One of my fears in purchasing a Samsung tab instead of the iPad pro is the note-taking capability. I’ve been using Goodnotes but seeing your blog makes me realize how Samsung notes can also provide the same features, and so much more! And I am so surprised that an aesthetic digital planner also exists in Samsung Notes!! This definitely made my decision so much easier. Thank you for sharing what you know!!!
Hello Angel! Your comment is so kind of yours; I’m so happy to hear that. Thank you for giving your time to it! It is wonderful to hear my work helps you out because I know there are no such resources for Samsung Notes. Your support is my biggest motivation for me; thank you!
Wishing you all the bests!
Very helpful. Thanks! I’ve had my Samsung Tablet (love it) for a few months and didn’t know some of these features in Samsung Notes.
Thank you so much for your lovely comment. I’m so happy you found it helpful; it means a lot to me! 💐
Can I please know the name of the font that you use on your samsung tablet. Also, why’s my samsung botes doesn’t have the page sorter? T^T
You need to set Page setting first. Dont use vertikal scroll.
Hello,
The font I used to use is called “Byourstory,” but it’s no longer available. I’m now using “AaLoafAround,” which is similar.
Regarding your other question, this problem can sometimes occur due to page settings. To fix it, try the following steps:
Go to Samsung Notes Settings.
Select “Page Style and Template” in the “General” section.
Select “Individual Pages.”
Re-import your file.
Open your file in Samsung Notes.
Tap on the Reading Mode icon.
I hope this helps!

Hi, thanks, this is very helpful. Do you know how can I move multiple pages from one notebook to another notebook?
Can you share how to change the font?
Thank you so much for share this🥰🥰
Hi Amanda, thanks for the suggestion! I’ll definitely share more about changing fonts in the future. In the meantime, here’s a quick tutorial. Go to the Galaxy Store and search for fonts, download the font you like, and apply the font.
Currently, this is the only way to change the fonts on Samsung Notes. I hope this helps!
Hi, i don’t know if it’s just me but my Samsung notes does not have the s pen to text, straighten, convert to text and auto fix shapes options, do you maybe know why? I’ve tried to look it up but nothing comes up. Could it be maybe because I need the s pen?
Hello! I think this can be about you are using a phone, and they pop up when you tap on three dots kind of a menu symbol. Also, if you don’t use an s pen, how do you take notes? Are you using a stylus?
How do I get my note to organize with tabs on side like I see on every digital planner.?
Hi Dustin, thanks for your question about creating a hyperlinked notebook. It can be a bit complicated, but it can be done using presentation apps like Keynote or PowerPoint. If you’re interested in learning how to create a hyperlinked notebook, I recommend searching online for tutorials. Good luck!
I created a two colum template, saved it as a pdf and mported into Samsung Notes. But i can only write on it with a pen and not type. Is that not possible?
I think this is impossible, haha, well maybe you just need to be in text mode.
Hello, what font does your tablet have?
Hi Daniela, thank you for your comment. The font I used to use is called “Byourstory,” but it’s no longer available. I’m now using “AaLoafAround,” which is similar and can be found in the Galaxy Store.
I hope this information is helpful!
Hello, it is called ‘ByOurStory’, but it is not available anymore, so I also found a similar one that is called ‘AaLoafAround.’ I hope this is helpful!
Thank you for this very detailed guide. I want to start journaling as a way to help with my mental health, but since I have an oldish Samsung tablet, it’s nearly impossible to find a good and simple app to do it. It’s great to see the features Samsung Notes have, it helps a lot 🙂
Hello Ana! Thank you so much for your comment. You are so kind! I also use my tablet for journaling. It definitely helps a lot since we can easily carry our digital journals everywhere. I wish you all the bests in your journey! <3 🙂
Thank you. I didn’t realize until reading your page how to use Samsung Notes in more ways. Your pictures and explanations are much better than other instruction. I have several Samsung tablets (old to new) and find them to be awesome compared to laptops. Keep it up!
You are so kind to give your time to leave such a motivational comment; thank you so much! I’m glad to be helpful! <3
How can I alphabetically sort a list on a note?
Hello! There is no option for this for now, but maybe you can use different apps for these kinds of lists.
Here is a very simple and dark one with a zen circle and 4 small text areas. Plus I write the day’s main priority in the circle: https://uscenes.gumroad.com/l/Samsung-notes-template . Totally free, wide and tall versions.
Hey, thank you so much for this, I downloaded it and left a rating! Love it, thank you! <3
Thank you so much for the detailed guide on how to use Samsung Notes. There was a lot of information on this page and it was so easy to follow with all the pictures and screen recordings!
Thank you so much for your support, I’m very happy to hear it is helpful! <3
Thanks. When I open my edited pdf again, it always go to the first page. Is it possible that it opens in page where I left?
Tbh, it doesn’t happen to me, so I don’t know the solution. However, it can be about the page settings, maybe. Can you check out the page style setting is set as individual pages. Please let me know about it, looking forward to your message!
Hi, can I know if I wanna read a pdf file through Samsung notes, how do I read it by flipping the pages side to side instead of scrolling up and down? Bc sometimes pdf has lots of pages, and I prefer to flip pages so it’s more convenient
Oh, I understand you, it is very simple.
1. Go to the Samsung Notes Setting
2. Select “Style of New Notes” in the general section.
3. Set the scroll direction as horizontal.
I hope this is helpful, good luck! 🙂
Hi, amazing blog first of all. Veryy good explanation for beginners! I just wanted to ask a question. I am trying to find a feature that helps me add a page link in existing page of Samsung notes. Like the feature of Notion. Because I want to create notes in such a way that I have the chapter overview on a page and then clicking on each element of chapter overview, I can go to the respective notes on that topic. If there is no such option, can you suggest an alternative to this on samsung notes?
I’m using Samsung Notes on a Galaxy A8 tab and I’m having 2 problems with getting the sticker book to work. First, the lasso tool lets me draw a shape around multiple stickers, but then nothing happens, the lasso disappears, and I can’t pick up the group of them to move them. Second, if I try to move the stickers around, it’s not letting me put them side by side. If I try to put a sticker next to another one, it moves it either above or below that sticker, so I can only have one vertical line of stickers going all the way down the document. Any suggestions for these issues?
Thanks!
Hello Erika, I apologize for the delay in my response. Unfortunately, there is no such feature available on Samsung Notes at the moment. However, I can suggest using the bookmark feature in Samsung Notes. This way, you can easily add pages and switch between them, similar to switching between chapters. I hope this solution is helpful for you. Thank you so much for your support; it means a lot to me!
Hi! Where do you get the notebook covers?
Some of them are from my shop, some of them are from my freebies library!
Thank you for your lovely guide! Though I’ve been using SSN for quite some time, I still learned a lot from you.
I do have a question: I’ve been looking for a Template for a 5-column grid or table. Failing that, is there a way to create columns in SSN? I must tell you, I’m not using a tablet—I’m on my phone. I want to keep up with my sleep patterns.
Thanks very much!
Hello!
Thank you so much for your kind words; they truly mean a lot to me!
Regarding your question, Samsung Notes doesn’t currently have a feature for creating tables. However, you can explore some free templates available in the templates section. Here’s a tutorial on how to find them, you might discover one that suits your needs: https://www.instagram.com/p/CwvV356oF76/
Alternatively, if your phone supports an S Pen, you can simply draw it. But, if you provide more details, I’d be more than happy to create a simple template for you. Just let me know your preferences.
Once again, thank you for your comment! 🤍
